Avon fire & rescue service hq
Avon Fire & Rescue Service (AF&RS) moved to share its headquarters with Avon & Somerset Police in Portishead from Temple Back.
The move includes around 65 members of AF&RS’s Support Staff, along with uniformed officers, senior managers and directors; the move into office space marks the renamed ‘Police and Fire Headquarters’ and will allow creative opportunities for closer working between the two blue light services.
Steer Design worked alongside AHR to refurbish the space within the Police HQ. AFRS were pro-active and forward thinking in allowing new ways of working, expanding hot desking and co-working within the new plan and allowing creativity become part of the design to fully represent AFRS, conscious that they sat within the police HQ - to become a joint HQ for both blue light services.
The FF&E was also specified by Steer Design with AFRS being open to new products to allow flexibility. Steer Design worked closely with the suppliers to ensure delivery and quality; plus provided on site coordination throughout the build.
