TAMAR COURT

Tamar Court is a state of the art Extra Care scheme which provides a range of housing, care and support for people with dementia.
Situated in Worle in north Somerset, Tamar Court replaced an existing care home and comprises of 65 self-contained flats and community facilities including a beauty and hair salon, restaurant, garden room, family rooms and a Wellbeing Centre.
Externally, there is a landscaped internal courtyard and gardens that surround the new building; upper levels feature balcony areas with sun shading.
The project was constructed to a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ environmental rating.
Working closely with Quattro Architects and Alliance Homes Group, Steer Design designed the interiors, specified the FF&E and assisted with the procurement of the FF&E with Rydon - the main contractor, to ensure that the client's vision was carried through to completion. The scheme was replacing an existing home but the new scheme was required to have a more modern feel, to get away from traditional care home aesthetics, to draw in and welcome people of all ages and make residents feel completely at home with freedom of space and ability.
The finish is care home meets hotel with comfort, style and ease of movement at the forefront of design.
